Gardaroos is a program that teaches students about our environment. The Gardaroos meet during one lunch time per week to participate in activities such as:

We are extrending the program to introduce a Leadership Course for the Year 6 Gardaroo students. These students will then train the new Year 4 Gardaroo students.

Learning Support Program

The P & C funds this program for 5 half days per week for three terms. This program is available to students from K-6 who have specific literacy needs. Students from K-2 receive small group instruction focusing on oral language development, oral reading fluency, phonics and reading comprehension skills. Students from years 3-6 attend three, small group reading lessons per week as part of their across the grade reading program. During these lessons the Rainbow Reading Program is utilised to facilitate improved oral reading fluency, the SRA series, Specific Skills is used to teach and further develop a range of reading comprehension skills and the Reciprocal Teaching method is used to complement texts from H.S.I.E. topics to maximise learning outcomes in the classroom.
