Mathematics
The new K-6 syllabus for Mathematics is being introduced to NSW schools in stages, with full implementation by 2006.
There are five content strands, Number, Data, Space and Geometry, Patterns and Algebra and Measurement. Working Mathematically is the process strand underlying all aspects of the syllabus.
The outcomes listed in this new syllabus are reflected in our current textbooks and in the activities and strategies used in classes. An even greater emphasis is placed on ‘hands on’ experiences and in promoting mental computation in Number work.
The children in Kindergarten undertake an individual assessment by their teachers in the Number strand and graded activities and group work are used throughout the school to cater for individual abilities.

The school results in the Basic Skills Tests in Numeracy in Year 3 and Year 5 are always significantly above the State average.
Students in Years 3-6 have the opportunity to participate in extension activities such as the University of NSW Mathematics Competition and the national Maths Olympiad.
